Deliver Projects on Time
As a project manager, I believe that efforts to organize teamwork are at least 50% percent of a team's success. I use a few tools like projects, lists of tasks, tasks, comments, and charts that help me deliver results on time. In this post, I will share my thoughts about Gantt charts as an additional tool to succeed in project management. Gantt charts are widely used and considered very helpful in project management. Most of you know that a Gantt chart is a visual representation of a project schedule that shows tasks, their start and end dates, and the dependencies between tasks. It provides a clear and easy-to-understand view of the project timeline, helping project managers, team members, and stakeholders to track progress, allocate resources, and manage dependencies effectively.
In CleanTalk we use doBoard to manage projects, it has already helped us to release a bunch of versions of our flagship plugins Anti-Spam by CleanTalk and Security by CleanTalk, as well as we manage customer support requests over there.
Today we are close to start developing Gantt charts for doBoard. Next, you can see key features, that I see as most wanted, and that we will release in the first stage.
- Classical visual representation of the project schedule, making it easy for everyone involved to understand the project timeline at a glance.
- Dependencies between tasks, helping project managers identify critical paths and potential bottlenecks. This allows for better planning and resource allocation.
- Resources allocations by seeing which tasks overlap and where it is time to put more people to finish a task at a time.
In the next stage, we will add more features:
- Tracking the progress of tasks and the overall project timeline, allowing for quick identification of delays or issues that may impact the project's completion.
- Reflecting changes in the project plan. This feature is crucial when unexpected events or changes in priorities occur.
Let me know if you are interested in starting to use Gantt charts. Just fill out the form above, and we will update you as this feature is ready to go.
